What my portfolio says about me:

My portfolio reflexes my learning this year.  Eighth grade has been a tough year. However I am very grateful for having such great teachers.

My knowledge and hunger for learning has grown this year. I think we are all at an age where we really have no motivation to get up in the morning. However I am glad to say we’ve made it. I am nervous yet exited for next year and the four years of high school to come.

In my portfolio you can get to know, me, my passions, my favorite subjects and my work. This year we did so many assignments using the latest technology. We made countless videos. We were also introduced to new tech tools (see examples in my portfolio). I hope you guys enjoy.

MY PASSION:

My world revolves around a couple of things: fashion, photography, food and love. Ever since I was little I’ve always had a passion for clothes. There is something about walking out of the house knowing you look good in what you’re wearing. Over the years you start to discover your own style, how you want to present yourself, but also how you want people to see you. I would say my style is different. I like to say I’m “high fashion”.  I try to incorporate unique pieces into my daily wardrobe.

Photography comes naturally to me. I taught myself how to use a camera. I think photography at this moment in time in just a hobby; but when I get older I will appreciate the pictures I took. A picture freezes a moment and it takes you back to that moment. Food is probably my biggest passion. I could eat all day. Tasting new foods is an experience for me; but eating my favorite foods is a like a high. When I’m older I would love to run a restaurant/bar. I would party all night and eat all day. My last passion in: love. Love for you family, friends, partner, life, even the love for yourself. I don’t know how to explain how much I love, love. But to keep it simple, I guess love is the closest thing we have to magic. 

how I've changed this year

I believe I've changed this year not only as a person but also as a student. I've learned that everything I do today, makes a change in the future! As you grow older you begin to understand the word: responsibility. When you have the privilege to study at such an alight school, you have to get out the best of it. 

I've learned to really make an effort on my work! As cheesy as it sounds I've learned to really give a hundred percent and try my best. Another mile stone is how I've learned to work in groups. I've always been a very controlling person, I always like things done my way. Working in groups teaches you how to inbrase other ideas. Who know, maybe other ideas are better than yours. Working in group also gives you less work, which is always a plus. 

Over the year we have been introduced to many new technology tools. Instead of the usual like microsoft word, power point and exel; we have used tools such as: extranormal, jelly cam, little bird tales and much much more!

The process of learning with my peers has helped me a lot. We are researching bungee jackets from the book the uglies written by scott westerfeld. Even though I am a loaner; I don't think our final product would be as good if I did it alone. 

Working in a group has helped me because I don't think our theories would be as good. We have rock solid theories now. I honestly believe that we can make our bungee jackets! We have investigated so much on each SUB-topic. Which has lead to an amazing outcome. This project does not have the hard work and dedication of one person but of 5. 

Every bodies brain works in different ways. Meaning I everybody thinks in different ways, which at the end of the day means better results. The 5 brains of our group were put into one final product, and as they say 2 brains are better than one!

WORST AUDIENCE BEHAVIOR:

WORST AUDIENCE BEHAVIOR:

     I think the worst audience behavior is talking. I believe this because when someone talks during a performance it’s distrustful to the people who are presenting. It’s the worst type of audience behavior because its something that you do on purpose. Not only is it disrespectful to the people who are presenting, but also it is disrespectful to the people who want to see the presentation. The best way to stop this is to either A) have a monitor who calls out people when they talk or B) to turn around politely and ask them to stop. Talking will always be an issue during a presentation.  I have been both a victim and an offender of talking while a presentation.
